Secure Data Destruction Services

The Data Protection Act Regulations 1998, requires businesses to securely destroy any data they hold containing personal information. Failure to comply is a criminal offernce with a maximum fine of £5000 plus any individual who suffers damage because of a contravention by that business is entitled to compensation.

At Advance Services all data we are asked to destroy is destroyed completely beyond recovery through our excellent on-site data erasure/ degausser service which eliminates the need for customers to incur additional costs in respect to manpower, transportation and software purchase.

Our data erasure system is both efficient and effective and our erasure technology is in full compliance with both US and UK military authorities. All data removal is conducted using a 3-7 level overwrite process to ensure complete data erasure and data security. On completion we provide clients with an ‘Erasure Report’ attached to a destruction certificate. The Erasure Report details the corresponding serial numbers from the specified erased media.

We also have an on-site degausser service which can erase most non-operational equipment or drives that cannot complete the data eraser stage. The strong magnetic field emitted by the degausser ensures all IT equipment with data is rendered unuseable and irretrievable. The degausser is able to completely erase ZIP drives, hard drives and other miscellaneous magnetic media. All work undertaken is subject to strict asset number tracking during all stages.
