Degaussing Hard Drives/Disposals Project

Advance Services were initially asked to provide a Deguass & Disposal service for a complete office closure. We were provided with a time slot of 9am- 2pm with Zurich insistent that we were off the site by 2pm. Due to the office closure there were large numbers of PC units and loose hard drives that were no longer in use which had to have the hard-drives retrieved and degaussed and then subsequently disposed. Zurich also required us to dispose of large quantities of CRT monitors, printers and sundry peripherals (keyboards, mice, cables etc).

The short time slot was not an issue thanks to the implementation of an extremely effective solution for the performance of the degaussing and disposal service simultaneously on-site. In addition, we ensured that we had a sufficient number of labouring staff to undertake the removal of all CRT’s, printers and other IT equipment within the timeslot.  We also supplied on-site dedicated technical staff to perform the degaussing of all loose hard drives and PC units. Once all the hard-drives had been degaussed they were placed in a secure container and our labouring staff then returned to remove all of the PC units and hard drives offsite. The job was successfully completed by the 2pm deadline.
